What is bringing so many people to the Mid Willamette Valley? 

Oregon State University
is one of Corvallis's biggest employers and home of the Oregon State Beavers. The Beavers baseball team are two time College World Series Champions and OSU's football team has made it to a Bowl game seven out of the last nine years. They won the Emerald Bowl against the Maryland Terps 21 to 14 on December 28, 2007, making it the 4th straight Bowl win for coach Mike Riley.  OSU is located in beautiful downtown Corvallis, and continues to draw students, faculty and professionals from all over the world.  Corvallis also employs CH2M Hill, Hewlett Packard, and Good Samaritan Hospital which draw professionals to the
area. Corvallis's unique specialty shops, pubs, and eating establishments give it a distinctive atmosphere, making it a great place to buy your new home . 

The City of Albany is about 10 minutes away from Corvallis and Lebanon and about 20 minutes away from Salem. Albany is known as the Tree City a name given for the many tree lined streets that grace Albany. One of Albany's favorite features is River Rhythms in the summertime, showcasing free concerts in Monteith Park along the Willamette River, located in historic downtown Albany.  There are also seasonal horse drawn buggy rides with stories about the historic homes and business in Albany's downtown area.  In October the haunted ghost story hay ride is a must do! Contact Albany's Chamber of Commerce for more information.  Late spring and summer the people of Albany, Corvallisand Salem, enjoy their Saturday Markets with fresh produce and products from local farms.  Albany is on the I -5 corridor with close proximity to Salem, Portland, Eugene, the Oregon Coast and Mountain Resorts.  Albany has affordable homes with the second lowest price per square foot in Oregon according to the National Association of Realtors.  Make Albany your new home.  Call me today!

If you like the mountains Sweet Home is the place for you. Green Peter, Foster Lake, and the Santiam River, are favorite fishing, camping and water skiing spots. Snow skiing is a short drive to Hoodoo Ski Bowl or drive a little farther to Willamette Pass or Bends Mount Bachelor.  Sweet Home is most widely known for the Oregon Jamboreefeaturing many famous country bands and singers and lasts for 3 days. There is overnight camping facilities near by.  Contact Sweet Homes Chamber of Commerce for more information.

Scio 
showcases their annual Lamb and Wool festival in the month of May.  And if you like living out in the country but want the convenience of bigger towns near by then Scio's for you.

If you want a more rural feel but still close to modern conveniences Lebanon may be the town for you. Lebanon has their annual Strawberry Festival featuring the largest strawberry shortcake, in the summertime.  Festivities include a downtown parade, and carnival close by.  Lowe's just built a large distribution center in Lebanon employing many local residence.  Soon to be built is a new teaching hospital drawing more professionals to the area.  Homes are resonably priced so give me a call on what you are looking for.
